They are reviewed annually with scope for employees to increase their salaries based on merit by upskill-ing or moving into niche areas such as project management or fintech. In general, the salary levels of private equity fund accountants are higher than hedge fund accountants, due to accounting qualifications being required. Due to a rapidly increasing demand for talent in private equity fund accountants, entry level roles are now being opened to candidates from audit and corporate accounting backgrounds.
